Fun ways to exercise

Can exercise really be fun?? Actually, yes! Of course, I am one of those people who actually enjoy working out at the gym.

However, I'm not talking about going to the gym to exercise. What I want to share with you is one of my favorite ways to get exercise, get outside, clear my head, and relieve stress.

That is to get on my bicycle! Now that spring is really here weather-wise, dust off that old bike that's been sitting in your garage, do some quick maintenance on it, and hit the trails!

We are so lucky, those of us who live in the Olypmia/Lacey area, to have such great areas to ride.

One of my favorites is the Western Chehalis trail. I'm fortunate enough to live just 1/2 mile from it, so I often will take an hour or two out of my day and go ride. It's a nice level trail, and you don't have to worry about motorized traffic.

Structural Relief Therapy

As many of you know, I have taken the entire series of classes on Structural Relief Therapy, taught by Taya Countryman.

I have added a new page to my website about it. http://www.lacey-massage-therapy.com/structural-relief-therapy.html

I find it an easy, quick way to get out of pain fast! The protocol is to find the SRT tender point, then position the body so that the pain of the tender point is turned off. That position is held between 90 - 120 seconds, and then slowly returned to neutral.

This is not the normal relaxation/stress relief type of massage that I do, but rather a specific injury treatment technique. I find that it is easy to incorporate parts of it into a regular massage session, especially arm/shoulder/neck issues.

If you would like to experience this work, just let me know. We can add it on to your massage, or do it as a stand-alone treatment. Just call me for more information. (360)413-5863.

The easiest way to clean your blender

I use my VitaMix blender almost daily, and have found the easiest way ever to clean it! All you have to do is rinse it out after using, add about a cup of water, a drop or two of dishwashing soap, then blend. Be sure to put the cap back on, or you will have a mess!

Then just rinse, and you're done!

Simple, easy. Just the way I like things. :o)

That's it for this issue - remember to get outside and enjoy the day! Get on your bike, go for a ride. Or go walk. Work in the yard/garden. Just get up and move! You'll be glad that you did.

Until the next time........
